What is the Spirit of Independence?
For generations, the Hispanic community has embodied a fearless spirit, by staying true to the belief that nothing great ever happens without taking a chance. Founded on the ideas that continue to inspire our community, LULAC and Hornitos® have decided to turn your beliefs into a reality. No matter how big or small the vision may be, LULAC and Hornitos® believe it’s “A Shot Worth Taking.”
LULAC and Hornitos® have had a long history of taking chances in order to challenge the status quo and create opportunities for the Hispanic community. As LULAC celebrates its 90th anniversary, it seems only natural to team up with Hornitos® in creating a special opportunity to celebrate diversity, push boundaries, and inspire people to break traditions.
About the Opportunity
LULAC and Hornitos® are looking to assist 25 aspiring Americans along their journey to gain legal U.S. citizenship by paying their citizenship fees. This opportunity is designed to educate the community about the importance of immigrants in our country, while inspiring everyone to take meaningful “shots” in their own lives.
Participants must be willing to share and submit their story to LULAC and Hornitos® on how they have taken a “Shot” at their American Dream.
Eligibility:
To be eligible to particpate, you must meet Beam Suntory compliance standards that include the following:
- Age 21 or over
- No prior DUIs or other drinking-related offenses
- No prior criminal offenses
- Personal shot-taking story cannot have any components related to children
- Occupation cannot be related to automotive industry (i.e. race car driver, truck driver)
- Cannot be a politician or be employed in the political field
- Cannot be related to four-year undergraduate schooling
- Cannot be, or have been in the past, employed by any other spirits company
- Must have a demonstrated history of being a shot taker
- Story must be inspiring and one that would encourage others to take their shot
- Must be willing to be featured in Hornitos Tequila’s marketing campaign
- Must be comfortable speaking with local and national media
- Must be comfortable having story shared on brand’s social channels
- Must be willing to participate in compliance and media training sessions
- Must be in the final phases of the naturalization process before close of 2019
