In celebration of National Youth Enrollment Day (Feb 15, 2014) LULAC is hosting a competition where teenagers and young adults can post a short (15-30 second) video on our Facebook page letting us know how the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) has changed their life for the better.
The stars of the best videos will receive an Advocacy Gift Package from the National Office and will be shared on the Department of Health and Human Service’s social media pages.
The Affordable Care Act has opened up resources for millions of young adults who previously did not have access to health insurance. With nearly one in six young adults suffering from a preexisting condition that could have led to a denial of coverage, millions of young adults can now have the peace of mind that coverage brings. Last year alone almost 8 million young adults gained coverage due to the provision that children can stay on their parent’s plan until the age of 26.
Currently young adults have the highest rate of un-insurance with nearly 30% going uncovered. Let’s work to change that today!
