LULAC Unveils Agenda for 2024 National Convention & Exposition

“Empowering the Next Generation” theme will be highlighted through the LULAC Academy and thought-provoking speaker sessions

Las Vegas, Nevada – The League of United Latin America Citizens (LULAC), the largest and oldest Latino civil rights organization in the U.S., announced the agenda for its 95th Annual National Convention and Exposition set to take place in Las Vegas, Nevada from June 26 – June 29, 2024 at the Caesars Palace Las Vegas Hotel & Casino. This year’s theme, “Empowering the Next Generation,” will focus on positioning the next generation of Latinos for success through education opportunities such as the LULAC Academy and in-depth conversations on topics that impact Latinos, including economic empowerment, health and wellness, technology/AI, and immigration.

“At LULAC, we want to ensure that the next generation of Latino leaders are prepared with the resources necessary to succeed. Between the LULAC Academy, esteemed speakers and panelists, and the grand exposition, LULAC’s National Convention and Exposition will help our members progress these goals. We are honored to welcome our participants, speakers, and members as we embark on a week of progress and growth, set the Latino agenda for the year, and elect the organization’s next leader,” said LULAC National President Domingo Garcia.

Plenary sessions at this year’s convention include:

  • Building Opportunities: Latinos and the Future of Infrastructure
Acknowledging the substantial contributions of Latinos as creators and beneficiaries of infrastructure is vital. This fireside chat will explore recent advancements in our nation’s infrastructure, addressing sustainable solutions to strengthen the economy for the future, with a dedicated focus on the pivotal role of Latinos in shaping the new economy.
  • Embracing the Uncomfortable: An Honest Conversation on Climate Change
Recent natural disasters have highlighted the stark reality of climate change, significantly impacting Latino communities across the U.S. This session will address the urgency of mitigation efforts, emphasizing how prolonged inaction disproportionately impacts Latinos and what we can do to confront these challenges.
  • Latinos and the Future of Voting and Civil Rights
In 2024, democracy is under significant threat, with voting rights hanging in the balance. Given the substantial influence Latinos hold in shaping election outcomes, it's vital to re-examine the state of voting rights in 2024.
