The Impact of COVID-19 on Students and Educators
Hashtag: #SupportTeachers
LULAC and the National Education Association are partnering to uplift the experiences of students and educators amid the coronavirus-related school closures taking place nationwide. From shifting to new online learning demands, to addressing families’ needs for meal programs, to organizing around important ongoing issues like the Census, immigration and elections, educators are working hard to support their students during this unprecedented time. Students, parents and families are also facing new challenges as they juggle adapting to virtual learning environments at home with doing all they can to stay healthy and financially stable. LULAC and NEA will share the ways we are working to support parents and students as families are staying indoors to stay safe. We will also have experts from the National Hispanic Medical Association and National Immigration Law Center on hand to share mental health tips and immigration updates for students, educators and families.
