Venton Hill-Jones
CEO of The Southern Black Policy and Advocacy Network, Inc.
Venton C. Hill-Jones represents a new generation of national leaders committed to advancing health equity and social justice through 15 years of experience leading non-profit organizations and initiatives, impacting public policy, and cultivating leadership. Since the beginning of his career, Venton has been a tireless advocate on the front lines in the fight to end the HIV/AIDS epidemic and improving health equity for marginalized populations in the U.S. South.
He is currently the CEO of The Southern Black Policy and Advocacy Network, Inc. (SBPAN), a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that was created in 2018 to improve health, social, and economic conditions facing Black communities living in the U.S. South.
Venton was an appointee to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention/Health Resources and Services Administration Advisory Committee on HIV, Viral Hepatitis, and STD Prevention and Treatment. In addition to his national and regional work, Venton is extremely active in his hometown of Dallas, Texas as a licensed real estate agent, Chairman of the Dallas County HIV Task Force, Vice-Chair of the Ryan White Planning Council of the Dallas area, and an elected neighborhood Precinct Chairman.

Session Three: Social Justice in the Black Community
Session will provide a discussion of the next steps of the Black Lives Matter movement following the election of President Joseph R. Biden and Democratic Congress. We will hear what civil rights protections, law enforcement reform, criminal justice reform and education and financial equity are needed at the federal level by the African American and Black Community. Presenters will also share the best ways the Latinx community can be an ally at the federal and local level.
