Orlando, FL – The League of United Latin American Citizens, the largest and oldest Hispanic organization in the United States announced today the launch of a discount card program that will help consumers realize significant savings off the retail price of prescription drugs at most local pharmacies and thousands more nationwide.
The free cards, which offer average savings of 20 percent off the retail price of commonly prescribed drugs, may be used by anyone, regardless of their age, income or existing health coverage. The consumer can choose from any of the more than 59,000 participating retail pharmacies across the United States.
“The LULAC prescription discount card offers significant savings for the uninsured and underinsured, all at no cost,” said Rosa Rosales, LULAC National President. “Even those fortunate to have prescription coverage can use the card to save money on drugs that are not covered by their health plan – and the consumer does not have to be Medicare beneficiaries to be eligible for this program.”
Cards will first be available at the LULAC Veterans Summit and then through LULAC offices throughout the United States. Consumers can call toll-free, 1-877-673-3688, or visit https://LULAC.RxSavingsPlus.com for assistance with the program.
“Presenting the discount card at a participating pharmacy is easy,” Ms. Rosales said. “Cardholders don’t have to worry about an enrollment form, membership fee or frequency-of-use restrictions. All of a cardholder’s family members can use the same card.”
The discount card program is administered by CVS Caremark.
