Statement from LULAC National President Margaret Moran

“The Latino community has been waiting for Washington to get to work on issues that make a difference in people’s lives instead of playing political games such as shutting the government down. Congress needs to show the American people that it’s able to come together and pass commonsense legislation for the benefit of our country and for the 10 million undocumented people who currently live in the shadows. There is not a single reason why Congress should not pass comprehensive immigration reform this year. The fact is, the will of the people is behind it and Congress has the votes to pass this important legislation. For the good of the American people and our economy, Congress must pass immigration reform with a path to citizenship. The Latino community is counting on it.”
