Washington, DC – As Latinos we must exercise our right to vote and make our voices heard on the critical issues that impact our community. We are not a single issue electorate. We must vote for leadership that increases job creation, makes college more accessible by making it more affordable, and widens the reach of health care accessibility to include those who have preexisting conditions. Our participation is mandatory to safeguard the vulnerable portions of our society. We Latinos must demonstrate our unity and elect those leaders who have our bests interests in mind.

Every US citizen has the right and obligation to vote, thereby ensuring that the collective voice of the people is clearly heard. In the case of the Latino community, the stakes are high and clearly defined. As the nation’s largest minority group, the Latino community can play a key role in choosing the next President of the United States, and can as well alter the electoral map in federal, state, and local elections across the country. But this can only happen if we exceed the estimated predictions and turn out more than 12 million voters for November's election.

LULAC understands that the stakes are high and wants to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to vote. Our right to vote is the cornerstone of our democracy and should not be taken for granted. As voter suppression efforts continue so must our community’s resolve to vote in tomorrow’s election. Together, we can elect candidates who will advance issues that make a difference to our community. Regardless of party affiliation, the Latino community must galvanize its electorate power and vote.

The future is in your hands — Vote on Tuesday, November 6!
