LULAC To Governor Cooper: Stop ICE Entrapment Tactics

NC Ice Raid

Dear LULAC Friend,

As National President of the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) I call on Roy Cooper, Democratic Governor of North Carolina to denounce and stop entrapment tactics by ICE in his state. The most recent ICE actions caught on camera show an ICE agent in North Carolina posing as a day laborer to entice and arrest undocumented workers looking for jobs.

This has to be one of the lowest and most cowardly acts by ICE I’ve ever seen! Governor Cooper has a duty to all residents of his state, including Latinos, to stop ICE from baiting people and then arresting them like they’re dangerous criminals and LULAC demands he take action immediately.

The eyewitness videos were first brought to light by Alerta Migratoria NC and DreamActivist.org which LULAC is supporting.

Over 700 activists have signed a petition demanding Gov. Cooper Take Action: "As a community we call on you, as Governor, to speak out against this grave injustice. These immigrants have lived in the U.S. for decades, and should not be targeted in this way."

Sign the Petition: Stand with North Carolina and against ICE deceptive tactics to arrest Latinos in these coordinated raids and these deceitful tactics that prey on hardworking Latino families and tear families and communities apart.

Today, it’s them. Tomorrow it could be you.

Hasta La Victoria,

Domingo Garcia
LULAC National President
