Election Day is upon us and I encourage all of you to vote and make your voices heard!

November 1, 2010

Dear LULAC Members and Friends:

Election Day is upon us and I encourage all of you to vote and make your voices heard!

The outcome of the 2010 midterm elections will have a profound impact on issues of critical importance to the Latino community. From educating our children, to passing immigration reform, to putting Americans back to work; the choices we make Tuesday will determine how these issues are addressed and the direction our country takes in the future.

Latino voters, more than ever before, will help determine the outcome of close races across the country. We must make certain that we choose leaders who will support our community once they take office and respond to our concerns when we ask them for help.

I want to thank LULAC members and allies for working so hard over the past two years, helping immigrants to become citizens, registering voters, and encouraging people to vote. LULAC’s Our Voice, Our Choice campaign registered thousands of voters in 13 states continuing a LULAC tradition that started with our founding in 1929.

As you prepare to go to the polls, please take advantage of our website resources at www.lulac.org/vote. If you encounter any problems at your polling place or are made aware of any attempts to discourage Latinos from voting tomorrow, please call the National Office immediately at (202) 833-6130 so that we can put you in touch with attorneys and resources who can address the problem. We, as LULAC members, need to ensure that every Latino voter has unimpeded access to the polls.

Please vote and encourage all of your family members, friends, and co-workers to vote. Our community wins when we make our voice heard and vote on Election Day.

Margaret Moran
LULAC National President
