LULAC “CON GANAS” CAMPAIGN: FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do you have any special marketing materials about LULAC that we can use to help get people to sign up?

No. This is not a conversion campaign, a campaign to convert people to the mission and purpose of LULAC. This is a relational campaign, meaning the people you know are signing up simply and only because you are asking them to. These type of individuals do not need a flyer, a summary of LULAC's history or the most recent news article. What they need is a call from you. If you do not make the calls and the ask, then no one will join. Although you can recruit others to make calls to their friends and family, you cannot outsource your calls to your friends and family to someone else.

What if people are unable to sign up online?

We can provide a paper sign up form to use but you still need to collect the money and input their information for them online.

What if people prefer to pay by cash?

Since the person is your friend or family member then please take the money and sign them up yourself online using your credit card. Basic sign up only requires name, email and cell. Addresses are definitely a plus.

What do they get for their $20?

Each new member will get an email message from President Garcia that contains a video message thanking them for joining as well as links to LULAC in the news and LULAC's website. Each member will also receive a letter from the Office of Membership Services, a membership card and maybe some promotional item (pin, sticker, fridge magnet, etc.,.).

If we do this, how will this work?

With the support from National Office, each National Vice President will develop the best approach for launching this campaign in their respective regions. This can be a conference call with Council Presidents, a major presentation and announcement at your LULAC State Convention or an email to the regional network of councils to be followed up with direct phone calls. As with all volunteer organizations, some regions and councils will be more active than others. Part of the work consists of asking everyone to adopt the specific goals of their own for each council and each person. We need to make sure the work gets pushed down to members in each council.
