2018 LULAC Federal Training Institute Partnership (FTIP)

The Department of Transportation (DOT), the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and the Department of Labor (DOL) will be hosting the LULAC Federal Training Institute Partnership (FTIP) in Washington, DC Monday, September 24 through Wednesday, September 26, 2018. This event is free of charge to all Federal employees regardless of grade and position as it is FTIP's goal is to develop a diverse pool of leaders for the future. Employees that wish to attend the FTIP must register. Employees are responsible for securing authorization to attend from their respective managers before registering.

LULAC and a cadre of Federal employees who served or are currently serving in Federal leadership positions created the FTIP in May 2013. The FTIP was born out of an ongoing need to train Federal employees during a period of budgetary constraints and to ensure diversity in the federal workforce of our Nation. LULAC understands that budget cuts will continue to impact training and development opportunities in many Federal agencies. However, LULAC believes the Federal government workforce needs to represent the population it serves. Therefore, it is critical that we continue addressing the challenges that many Federal agencies may have in developing and retaining a diverse population, particularly Hispanics, within their agencies. In an effort to show our continued support and assist Federal agencies in addressing the aforementioned issues, we are working with Federal agencies, private consultants and the National Council of Hispanic Employment Program Managers (NCHEPM) to ensure we continue developing federal employees for greater career opportunities through the FTIP.

The FTIP provides an intensive and structured career-development program for government employees. The FTIP offers plenary sessions, workshops, and executive coaching sessions. It is designed to enable government employees at all levels to enhance their skills and develop Executive Core Qualifications skills required for leadership positions and entry into the Senior Executive Service.

We ask that employees read and follow all instructions, register and secure authorization to attend from their respective managers before registering.
