Event Details

Description

It’s time to talk about something that affects the health of Latinx youth. E-cigarettes are the most commonly used tobacco product among Hispanic/Latino high school students (23.2%) and middle school students (13.1%). Tobacco companies are intentional with their advertising in low-income communities to make smoking appear appealing which then increases adolescents' desire to smoke. It is important to advocate for our family and communities.

LULAC invites you to join our “Smoking, Vaping and Your Health” webinar with Tobacco Free Kids on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 6:00-7:00 PM ET. This free event is open to all young people between the ages of 13-24 who are interested in learning about the effects of tobacco use (including e-cigarettes and other tobacco products) on physical and emotional health.

Join our discussion about the different tobacco products and the dangers of using them. Additionally, learn about the resources available to combat tobacco use at home and around their community and reinforce the health benefits of being tobacco-free.
