AUSTIN, TX - Tomorrow, Thursday, October 17, the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) will continue its “Freedom Walks for Justice” campaign in the Texas State capitol of Austin. The campaign’s mission it to mobilize local Latino communities to vote.

The Freedom Walks are part of a movement inspired by the Freedom Riders. The purpose of the walks is to amplify Latino voices across the Austin area, and the country, to promote greater civic engagement through voting. At each stop, LULAC members will walk as a group for one mile in solidarity with one message: “We walk, Mobilize, and Vote.” At each of the 15 cities, LULAC will have resources available to assist community members with voter registration.

WHAT:
Freedom Walks for Justice march and rally in Austin, Texas. This week, LULAC launched a campaign of unity walks in 15 cities, including Washington, D.C, across eight states, to help community members register to vote in Austin and the greater area.
