Google Career Certificates Program

LULAC Institute, Inc. and Google.org believe access to economic opportunity should be available to everyone. That’s why we’re excited to announce our partnership on the Google Career Certificate program.

Through this initiative, LULAC councils and partner organizations will host an impactful workforce program to empower adult community members to pursue economic advancement.

The two-year program is designed to provide scholarships for participants to complete a Google Career Certificate and equip them with in-demand skills, offer professional development opportunities, and connect them with top employers.

Google Career Certificates provide people with access to in-demand jobs through rapid reskilling without the need for a college degree or prior experience in the fields of IT support, data analytics, project management, and user experience (UX) design.

The LULAC Google Career Certificates program aims to:

  • Promote participants’ confidence and improved self-esteem towards learning in entering the job market.
  • Help participants to obtain a job with increased wages and benefits. Providing participants opportunities and resources for leadership development, networking, and the development of workforce and business skills.
  • Expose participants to Data Analytics or related careers to other certificates, including introductions to professionals that can serve as mentors.
  • Provide participants with a better understanding of the importance of pursuing continued education and certifications.

LULAC and Google.org awarded grants of up to $40,000 ($20,000 per program year) to site partners to host and implement the Google Career Certificates program over two consecutive program years.

Program Year #1: January to August 2022
Program Year #2: January to August 2023

Through this initiative, LULAC and Google.org will support efforts to increase economic empowerment and mobility among Hispanic families and communities.
