Essential Duties: The Workforce Development Programs Fellow is responsible for administering LULAC’s workforce and empowerment programming and initiatives. Duties include overseeing the implementation of associated programs with the primary goal of assisting Latinos succeed in the modern workplace academy and ensuring all program goals and objectives are met in a timely manner and within designated resources.

Duties and Responsibilities:
I. Community Programming
  • Coordinate and oversee the programmatic operation of the Google Certification Program and the entrepreneur Academy and ensure all program goals and objectives are met in a timely manner.
  • Organize monthly capacity training and best practices conference calls with the local partners.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating program events and celebrations.
  • Maintain a program database running metrics for sites.
  • Obtain status reports from each center and finalize reports for management and sponsors.
  • Provide onsite and web training to staff on network operation and technology center curriculum.
  • Collaborate with LULAC national staff, National Board, members, sponsors and local community-based partners to build relationships and maintain a network of individuals and groups to assist in the execution of programs across the country.
II. Curriculum Development
  • Assist in planning, developing, and organizing program components with program staff.
  • Develop technology center curriculum customized for center clientele, maintain current program guides and assets and assist with developing a LULAC model program guide.
  • Research and incorporate educational, employment, housing and online resources to include in the center curriculum.
  • Analyze training needs to develop new training programs or modify and improve existing programs.
  • Develop and organize training manuals, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials.
III. Program Marketing
  • Assist in developing an advertising and media strategy for program events.
  • Assist in facilitation of the program’s public launches with funder, partner sites and LULAC representatives.
  • Assist in developing facts sheets, outreach and promotional materials for use by LULAC staff, members, and partner organizations.
  • Coordinate with the Communications staff to integrate program priorities and updates in the LULAC newsletters, website content, and other communication methods
IV. Program Sustainability
  • Help coordinators manage the sub grant process, including writing the request for proposal, selecting grantees, facilitating the MOU process, managing the program and ensuring timely sub grantee reporting.
  • Responsible for management of the organization's volunteer database including the promotion, maintenance, and contacting of volunteers for available opportunities.
  • Recruit and manage volunteers for LULAC’s national events

Education:

Undergraduate or Graduate Degree required or 4 years of related or similar work experience can be substituted for formal education degrees.

Competencies: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficiency in oral and written English and Spanish.
  • Experience in organizing, and working with grassroots advocates, Latinos, immigrant community members, government entities and community-based organizations.
  • Experience in public speaking, conducting workshops and training of grassroots community members.
  • Experience in budgeting, financial management, and program reporting preferred.
  • Ability to synthesize information from various sources and present it in a variety of written formats and styles for a variety of audiences.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills

Experience:

Experience in working with grassroots / nonprofit organizations in the community.

Salary Range: Undergrad Degree: $32,000/year
Graduate Degree: $37,000/year.

Benefits:
