Olivia Zepeda serves as a Research and Policy Fellow at LULAC’s National Office in Washington, DC. She is from Los Angeles, CA and a student at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), studying Political Science with a double minor in Global Studies and Community Engagement & Social Change. At UCLA, she is a writer and content editor for La Gente Newsmagazine, where she publishes articles that speak to the diversity of the Latino experience. She also supports a UCLA Chancellor’s HSI Postdoctoral Fellow in analyzing data related to Orgullosas y Poderosas, a youth participatory action research collaborative for Latina adolescents. After obtaining her Bachelor’s degree, she hopes to pursue graduate studies in international relations and a career in U.S. Foreign Affairs. Olivia’s passion for serving her community is evident in her involvement throughout her undergraduate journey, and she is excited to continue fostering positive change in her Latino community with LULAC.
