Kelly Arhelly Zamudio is a Mass Media and Communications fellow at LULAC’s National Office in Washington, D.C. She is honored to have the opportunity to develop new skills with LULAC this spring and looks forward to bringing her knowledge back to her community.

She is a proud alumna of Santa Rosa Junior College, where she was an active and engaged member of her community. During her time there, she contributed to research on The Portrait of Sonoma, examining the human development index in low-ranked census communities across Sonoma County, focusing on health, socioeconomics, and education. As the former president of Movimiento Estudiantil de Aztlán (MEChA) at Santa Rosa, she helped organize events such as visits from immigration lawyers and the Mexican Consulate to ensure that community members had access to essential free services. Additionally, she served as a community safety observer, advocating for vineyard workers' rights and ensuring safe working conditions in Sonoma County.

After community college, Kelly transferred to the University of California, Davis, where she is double majoring in Political Science–Public Service and Sociology–Law and Society. She is currently involved in the Associated Students of UC Davis as an Academic Affairs Commissioner. In Fall 2025, she will take on the role of Executive Director of the Chicanx Latinx Collegiate Association at Davis, furthering her dedication to Latino advocacy. Given her passion for learning and community empowerment, Kelly plans to pursue a Master’s in Migration Studies and attend law school to become an immigration lawyer.
