Valeria Martínez is a Research and Policy Fellow at LULAC’s National Office in Washington, D.C., serving in early 2026. Originally from San Salvador, she is a fourth-year student at Marquette University majoring in International Affairs and Political Science, with a minor in Economics. At Marquette, she is a member of Sigma Iota Rho and has served on the executive boards of the East Asian Culture Club and the Latin American Student Organization. Her work includes research with the Marquette University Center for Peacemaking on wellness services and homelessness in Milwaukee, as well as field work with Programa Velasco, a Salvadoran NGO supporting the economic and personal empowerment of women and families in San Ramón and Tepecoyo during the summers of 2024 and 2025. After graduating in May 2026, she plans to work for a year before pursuing a master’s degree in International Affairs focused on social and political issues affecting Latin America.
