Sheri Ortuno

Sheri Ortuno is serving as a Research and Policy Fellow at LULAC’s National Office in Washington, D.C. in the fall of 2025. Originally from Orange County, California, she is a rising senior at the University of California, San Diego, majoring in Public Health with a concentration in Health Policy and Management Sciences. Sheri is deeply committed to advancing health equity, with a particular focus on healthcare management and policy that improves access and outcomes for Latino and underserved communities. She has also been active in mentorship through her campus’s mentor collective, supporting other first-generation students and helping to build the next generation of leaders. After graduation, she plans to pursue a master’s degree in Public Health to continue shaping policy and driving systemic change in healthcare.
