Juan Pozo serves as a Policy & Legislation Fellow at LULAC's National Office in Washington, DC. He is a junior at Claremont McKenna College (CMC), studying Public Policy and Leadership Studies. As a first-generation Ecuadorian, he has a passion for protecting and advancing the civil rights of Latin American citizens. As the President of the Volunteer Club at CMC, he manages student volunteers who host mentorship meetings for local youth from low-income communities. As a member of the 1Gen Club Executive Board at CMC, he works to create an inclusive and equitable environment for all students on campus. During the summer of 2024, he interned with Maui Hope, where he conducted applied research in the field of developmental disabilities and provided caregiving services to adults with special needs. He plans to pursue a Master’s in Public Policy and one day become a policy consultant. When he is not working or studying, he enjoys playing soccer and listening to country music.
