Paddy Bateman serves as a Policy and Legislation Fellow at the League of United Latin American Citizens. He is a 20-year-old Junior college student from Buffalo Grove, Illinois, in the Chicagoland area. He is currently attending Marquette University and is looking to graduate with a major in Political Science and a minor in Spanish Language, Literature, and Culture. During his time at Marquette, he was accepted into numerous academic societies, including Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society, and Sigma Delta Pi, the National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society. He was also a member of the Marquette Student Conduct Board, an academic board dedicated to hearing cases on violations of university policy and administering fair rulings that allow students to reflect on their decisions and better their academic careers. Outside of school, he also volunteers at numerous events at Misericordia Heart of Mercy, a Catholic Charity organization in Chicago that helps children and adults with physical and developmental disabilities. This Spring he will be finishing his undergraduate degree and will begin studying for the LSAT before starting law school. During this time, he hopes to find an additional internship or full-time employment to begin his legal career; eventually, he hopes to find a career in international law and be the difference the world needs.
