Michelle Muxi serves as a Research and Policy Fellow at the League of United Latin American Citizens at their national headquarters in Washington D.C. She graduated from the University of California, Davis, with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and a minor in Spanish, concentrating in Comparative Politics as a first-generation student. Before transferring to UC Davis, she earned her Associate of Arts in Spanish and Political Science at Orange Coast College and studied abroad at Cambridge University. During her undergraduate years, Michelle took on leadership roles as a Student Senator, Secretary, Historian, and member of the UC Davis National Society of Leadership and Success. She also interned at Advocacy Associates, where she provided and managed logistical support for events and collaborated with congressional offices. While at UC Davis, Michelle focused on studying Latin America and U.S. diplomatic relations, specifically exploring issues of security and human rights. Her travels to Latin America and coursework on regional policies have shaped her academic goals of pursuing diplomacy and addressing the root causes of transnational crime and migration. Currently, Michelle is pursuing a Master's degree in Latin American Studies and a certificate in Refuge, Migration, and Humanitarian Emergencies, concentrating on Governance and Leadership. Her research interests include diplomacy, U.S.-Central American relations, Immigration, education, and security, with a geographic focus on Central America and Mexico.
