Miriam Hernandez is a Policy and Legislation Fellow at the League of United Latin American Citizens at their National Headquarters in Washington, D.C. She is double majoring in Economics and Political Science at Wellesley College in Wellesley, MA. She is trained as a Community Inclusion Facilitator and hosts workshops dedicated to exploring intersectionality topics surrounding race, sexuality, class, and oppression. For her upcoming and final year in Mezcla, Wellesley’s biggest Latino organization on campus, she will serve as co-president with the goal of providing a welcoming environment for students seeking to connect with their culture.
As the daughter of Mexican immigrant parents from CDMX and Guadalajara, she plans to attend law school in the future in hopes of becoming an immigration attorney. She is delighted to join LULAC at their National Headquarters in Washington, DC. She hopes to continue learning about the struggles of the Latino community and contribute towards steps to solve them.
