Lauren Meraz

Lauren Meraz is a Research & Policy Fellow at the League of United Latin American Citizens at their National Headquarters in D.C. She is currently a rising senior at Brown University studying both Economics-Public Policy and Latin American Studies. On campus she has been involved as Macroeconomic and Policy Vertical Head for Brown Healthcare Investment Group, project lead for Global Research Consulting, DEI chair for the Economics DUG, and first year mentorship among others. Last summer she interned at UCLA Health and worked at Cafe con Libros in her home of Los Angeles. Her past projects include visualizing Medicaid expansion implications on minority populations, analyzing dental trends for Latino youth with linguistic representation, and standardization of Medicare Advantage benefits on Latino seniors. Her passions include healthcare, equity, culturally competent information dissemination and language accessibility for Latinos. She has loved how supportive LULAC has been in allowing her to work in this intersection and looks forward to pursuing a career in the field post-grad.
