Mariah Moreno

Mariah Moreno is a Policy and Research Fellow at LULAC's National Office in Washington, D.C. She grew up in West Covina, California, and currently resides in Whittier. A third-year undergraduate student at the University of California, Los Angeles, she is studying Political Science with a minor in Public Affairs. Before transferring to UCLA, she attended Mt. San Antonio College, where she worked as a student assistant under the Student Services Division and served in student government. As a college representative for the Student Senate of California Community Colleges, she participated in annual state conferences, drafting resolutions to address the unique needs of community college students. As a proud transfer student, she is passionate about advocating for educational equity in higher education and is eager to apply her skills to advance Latino advocacy through her role at LULAC. In addition to her policy work, she is a Human Resources assistant at UCLA’s School of Law, an experience that aligns with her aspiration to become the first practicing attorney in her family. She has a strong passion for civil rights and social justice, particularly in reforming the criminal justice system and addressing recidivism rates that disproportionately impact minority communities.
