Andres Garcia Perez is a Policy and Research Fellow at LULAC’s National Office in Washington, DC. He is excited to develop his professional skills and collaborate with all the amazing staff at LULAC. He was born in Portland, Oregon where he was raised alongside his 4 other siblings in an unincorporated community called Aloha. His parents migrated from Tlaxcala and Oaxaca, Mexico. As a first generation student and as the child of migrant farm workers, Andres understands the transformative power of education. He has experience as a community organizer for Western Farm Worker Association (WFWA), a non profit that believes firmly in lending a helping hand to farm workers across various counties in the state of Oregon. He is working to earn a Criminal Justice Associate of Arts Transfer Degree at Portland Community College by 2026, a bachelor’s degree in political science from Lewis and Clark College, and a J.D. degree. He aspires to be licensed and practicing Criminal/Civil Law by 2031, with the ultimate goal of joining the United Nations Office of Legal Affairs or owning his own Immigration law firm. It is not just about personal success; it's about the responsibility he carries to uplift others along the way. This drives his determination to excel at Portland Community College, Lewis and Clark, LULAC and ultimately, life.
