Fatoumatta Mbowe

Fatoumatta Mbowe serves as a Policy and Legislation Fellow at LULAC’s National Office in Washington, D.C. in early 2026. Originally from The Gambia, she holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in Development Studies from the University of The Gambia and is currently pursuing a Master of Healthcare Administration at the University of the Potomac in Washington, D.C. She brings international experience from her work with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the Department of Community Development in The Gambia, where she supported community outreach, reintegration efforts, and research on community development strategies that strengthened local participation. At LULAC, her work focuses on healthcare access, access to critical medications, and immigrant protection, grounded in a strong interest in health policy, research, and evidence-based policymaking aimed at improving outcomes for marginalized communities.
