Cinthia Ochoa Carmona serves as a Mass Media and Communications Fellow at the League of United Latin American Citizens. She is from Santa Ana, California, and is a fourth-year student at the University of California, Riverside (UCR), majoring in Sociology with a minor in Chicano Studies. Lived experiences have fueled Cinthia’s innate passion for uplifting and supporting her community. Last summer, she interned with Al Otro Lado, where she was directly involved in providing humanitarian support and advocating for individuals at the U.S.-Mexico border. On campus, she worked as a Service Associate at UCR’s Highlander Union Building, where she supported students and ensured the efficiency of one of the university’s busiest buildings.
Cinthia is also a peer advocate with Brothers and Sisters Against Violence, a student group at UCR dedicated to ending relationship and sexual violence through education and advocacy. In addition to her advocacy and service work, Cinthia has also held multiple leadership roles within her sorority, Alpha Delta Pi, including Wellness Specialist, Chapter Foundation Ambassador, and Digital Marketing Specialist. She is excited to continue exploring the intersections of communications, advocacy, and community empowerment throughout her fellowship and future career.
