Carisma Angel De Anda is a Policy & Legislation Fellow at the League of United Latin American Citizens’ National Headquarters in Washington D.C. Carisma was born and raised in San Diego, California and has a Mexican-American background. Carisma is a rising Junior at the University of California, Berkeley where she is pursuing a major in Political Science with concentrations in International Relations and Quantitative Methods and a minor in Data Science. She is deeply interested in the intersection of politics, technology, and ethics. Additionally, she is interested in increasing Latino representation in STEM fields. As the current Development Vice President of Political Computer Science at Berkeley, Carisma strives to bring together various communities at UC Berkeley to highlight the importance of politics and technology. During her spring 2024 semester at UC Berkeley, she worked as a Tutor for the Foundations of Data Science - Data Scholars program where she assisted over 100 students in a program that exposes individuals from diverse backgrounds to the exciting world of data science. In the future, Carisma would like to attend graduate school. A dream of hers is to work for an organization that focuses on tech equity and development on the international level. In her free time, she enjoys running, hiking, discovering new restaurants, and spending time with friends and family.
