Kevin Pacheco-Barajas

Kevin Pacheco-Barajas serves as a Research and Policy Fellow at the League of United Latin American Citizens. He is a 19-year-old Mexican-American from Hemet, California in the Desert area. He is currently a first generation student attending the University of California, San Diego as a Political Science major and double minoring in Law and Society and Sociology. He has had the opportunity to work at the Legal Aid Society of San Diego where he filed restraining orders in the domestic violence, civil harassment and elderly abuse sector. As well as interning at TurnUp Activism where he held a voter registration drive at his university and provided clients with the tools and information needed to engage in the electoral process. This Fall he will be interning at the Federal Defenders of San Diego as an investigator where he will review and summarize case discovery, create investigative aids, assist attorneys in court preparation, obtain records, observe hearings, and support the investigation team as needed. He is passionate about advocating for vulnerable communities and driving meaningful change. He is interested in immigration law, public policy, and social justice. He hopes to become an Immigration Attorney and use his legal education to be proactive in his passions.
