Axel Valencia Alvarez

Axel Valencia Alvarez is a Research and Policy Fellow at LULAC’s National Office in Washington, D.C. in the fall of 2025 and a fourth-year student at UC Santa Barbara majoring in Chicana/o Studies with a minor in Labor Studies. A committed student leader, he has worked on immigration rights, equitable access to education and healthcare, and the labor movement. This past summer, he interned with United Farm Workers in Ventura County, California, where he engaged directly with farmworker families in the wake of ICE raids, helping them create family preparedness plans. After earning his B.A., Axel plans to work as a legal assistant at an immigration law firm before pursuing law school to become an immigration attorney dedicated to serving immigrant communities.
