History Minors: Digital Marketing and Public Service

University of Notre Dame

Ashley Avalos is a third year at the University of Notre Dame where she studies History and holds two minors; public service and digital marketing. As a Fall 2024 Research & Policy Fellow with the League of United Latin American Citizens, Ashley is excited to join the team and learn more about policy development as well as conducting tangible research. She was born and raised in Santa Ana, CA and her family is from Sahuayo, Michoacán. Given her background as a first generation scholar, Ashley looks to pursue a career in the political sector and give back to her community. She has been involved in her community both on and off campus via her experience as a Mclnerney Fellow, Student Analyst for the Inclusive Pedagogy at the Kaneb Center and as an Administrative Aid with Project Youth Orange County Bar Foundation. She strives to foster a diverse and rich community through her extracurriculars with the Latino Student Alliance and hip-hop dance crew Project Fresh. It is with great pleasure that she joins as a fellow with an institution like LULAC and looks to this opportunity as an invaluable experience that can be formulative to her career discernment and professional development.
