What is Adelante America?
LULAC’s ¡Adelante! America Program was created to encourage and nurture high school students to become leaders in their communities. Designed as a leadership development program, ¡Adelante! America helps students take an active role in the decisions that shape their community. It provides exceptional personal development via one-on-one academic counseling sessions. Participation in ¡Adelante! America provides students with an expanded world-view and the tools necessary for succeeding in that world through college education.
Students gain a greater awareness of their own decision-making process, as well as respect for the unique world views of others. Once this basic idea is established, progress toward common goals such as succeeding in school, getting into college, getting a good job and being a productive member of society can be achieved.
