LULAC to Host Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill on February 15, 2024

Washington, D.C. – On February 15, the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), the Nation's largest and oldest Latino civil rights volunteer-based organization, will host its Advocacy Day at the U.S. Capitol in conjunction with the LULAC National Legislative Conference and Awards Gala.
During the Advocacy Day, LULAC members and leaders from the Latino community will meet with Congressional offices to discuss the most pressing issues and legislation impacting Latinos in the U.S. in today’s political climate, including affordable broadband connectivity, farmworker initiatives, and providing benefits for noncitizen veterans through immigration reform and pathways.
In addition, LULAC Board members and distinguished guests will attend a White House Briefing that will focus on Health, Environment, and Veterans. LULAC members and leadership will be meeting with Congressional members and Senators to discuss the following bills that the organization is supporting:
- S.3565 - Affordable Connectivity Program Extension Act of 2024
- H.R.6929 - Affordable Connectivity Program Extension Act of 2024
- H.R.6183 - Office of Colonias and Farmworker Initiatives Establishment Act of 2023
- H.R.4569 - Veteran Service Recognition Act of 2023
Individuals will also attend a private lunch at Rayburn House with Representative Henry Cuellar (TX-28), Representative Veronica Escobar (TX- 16) and Representative Joaquin Castro (TX-20).
