Elida Martinez

Elida J. Martinez hails from the vibrant cultural landscape of Nuevo Leon, Mexico, yet her heart finds its home in Oak Cliff, a mighty neighborhood in the center of Dallas, Texas where she spent her formative years. As Assistant Director for the Office of Student Engagement at UNT Dallas, she oversees campus activities, student organizations, leadership development, fraternity and sorority life, university traditions, and campus recreation. At the core of her work is a commitment to creating intentional opportunities where young adults feel seen, supported, and empowered to explore their identities and grow through all of their intersectionalities while pursuing a higher education.

Beyond her university role, Elida serves as the National Vice President for Young Adults for LULAC, where she leads national campaigns focused on civic engagement and social justice. Passionate about empowering young adults, she has dedicated her career to advocating for equity, justice, and student success. A committed lifelong learner, Elida holds a BBA in Organizational Behavior and Human Resources from UNT Dallas and an M.Ed. in Educational Administration from Tarleton State University, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. to deepen her ability to create meaningful change in higher education and beyond.
