Event Topics

HEALTHCARE ACCESS: The Disappearing Lifeline: The Impact of Medicaid and Safety Net Cuts on Latinos

Across the country, Medicaid cuts and reductions to safety net programs are putting the most vulnerable Latino communities—particularly children and the elderly—at severe risk. These cuts undermine access to essential healthcare, deepening disparities in chronic conditions such as diabetes, obesity, asthma, and mental health. This session will focus on how these populations are bearing the brunt of these policy changes, with particular attention to the impact on their health outcomes.

Nuestro Futuro: California Gubernatorial Forum 2025

Latino voters hold tremendous power, yet year after year, turnout lags and priorities go unheard. This forum isn’t just another campaign stop—it’s a call to action. It’s about asking the tough questions, spotlighting real concerns, and demanding answers from the people who want to lead.

Rooted in our history of fighting injustice and pioneering change, this theme reflects our commitment to educating the leaders of tomorrow. As we come together every year to advocate for progress, we recognize the importance of mentorship and inspiration in fostering future leaders. From advocating for fair labor conditions to establishing educational initiatives, LULAC has always sought to support Hispanic communities.
