Twitter: @tristan_claudia

Claudia Tristán is the daughter of Mexican immigrants. She's worked in both English and Spanish television news. Eventually, she moved to the U.S. - Mexico border to cover immigration during the Trump administration's first two years in office. Claudia covered the Zero Tolerance policy that led to family separation and Migrant Protection Protocol that forces asylum seekers to wait in Mexican border towns. Later she went on to work in politics including working in Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham's office and Beto O'Rourke's presidential campaign. Recently, she started putting her immigration experience to use with MomsRising/MamásConPoder as they navigate unprecedented challenges for immigrants. MomsRising is a million-member grassroots organization advocating to increase family economic security, decrease discrimination against women and moms, and build a nation where businesses and families can thrive.
