David Cruz

David Cruz is a broadcast network journalist and writer based in LA and is the recipient of multiple Emmy Awards and Golden Mikes for his groundbreaking storytelling and compelling narratives on the American landscape. Cruz began his career with the founding television station that grew to become UNIVISION Network. Cruz went on work for ABC, NBC and CBS affiliate and network owned stations in San Francisco, Dallas and Los Angeles. Among the assignments which distinguished his tenure were stories based in Asia, Latin America and Europe. When CNN Spanish Radio Network was launched, Cruz was tapped to Anchor the nation’s first syndicated bilingual broadcast which aired in 82 U.S. markets and reached more than 200 markets throughout Latin America. Cruz was Anchor/Reporter named the top-rated broadcast in Southern California. Among the highlights of his tenure was live on-air network coverage of the 9/11 attack in New York City, the murder of Bill Cosby’s son, the attack of El Al Airlines at LAX and the passing of Frank Sinatra. For each of these events, Cruz provided reports for NBC, MSNBC and CNBC Networks. Cruz now devotes his expertise as a Communications and Media Consultant for legacy Latino organizations and continues to produce news and public affairs content for broadcast and digital networks.
