Sandra Caraveo

Ms. Caraveo is the National Programs Manager for the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), the old and largest grassroots Latino civil rights organization in the United States and Puerto Rico. Ms. Caraveo works on developing and executing various projects that educate and empower the Latinx community across the country. She has used her extensive experience with mobilizing and training grassroots networks to carry out LULAC’s national program implementations. Currently, she is overseeing all of LULAC’s major service initiatives in education, health, youth leadership development, financial empowerment, employment, technology and housing. Recently, she developed the COVID-19 emergency response strategies for LULAC to provide direct relief to more than 45,000 recipients across the country. With 16 years of experience in the non-profit sector, she continues to be passionate about developing sustainable communities and advocating for low-income/ minority communities.

A native of El Paso, TX, Ms. Caraveo attended the University of Texas at El Paso where she majored in Communications. She remains active in her community and is a member of Progress 321, an organization that aims to improve the borderplex’s economy and quality of life. She is also an active volunteer for the El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank and the Annunciation House, a volunteer organization that offers hospitality to migrants, immigrants, and refugees in the border region of El Paso, Texas. In 2021, she was name as an Aspen Fellow.
