Roman Palomares

LULAC National President and Chairman

Roman Palomares

Roman Palomares has served as the National President of the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) since June 2024. Prior to this role, he served as Chief of Staff and Chair of Military and Veteran Affairs within the organization and is a distinguished National Housing Consultant. Roman’s leadership is deeply informed by his experiences as a Vietnam Era veteran and a retired federal executive. His contributions continue to empower LULAC’s members to harness their leadership potential and drive positive change in their communities.

Growing up as the fifth of nine children in a low-income neighborhood on the south side of San Antonio, Roman learned the value of hard work and dedication early on. His commitment to rise above poverty and mediocrity led him to earn a Washington Fellowship and later a Master’s in Public Administration, setting the foundation for his successful career as a federal executive. Roman’s career, which spans numerous awards and leadership roles, embodies his mission of excellence and the belief that excellence is a lifelong journey.

After dedicating forty years to three federal government agencies, Roman founded his management consulting firm, where he provides technical assistance to local government entities across the U.S. In this capacity, he mentors hundreds of local government and housing board members, helping them lead their agencies effectively. This same passion for mentoring and leadership extends to his work with LULAC Officers, empowering them to achieve success in their respective roles.

Roman’s commitment to service goes beyond his professional career. He actively serves on the boards of several foundations and national military support organizations, highlighting his dedication to military veterans. His academic achievements include an Associate Degree from San Antonio Junior College, a Bachelor’s Degree from Our Lady of the Lake University (Worden School of Social Work), and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Southern California, Washington D.C. campus.

As National President of LULAC, Roman Palomares continues to exemplify a lifetime of service, dedication, and the relentless pursuit of excellence through his career, leadership, and community involvement.
