Tyler Sterling

Tyler Sterling is the NAACP National Director of Mobilization. In this role he helps work on the strategy and implementation of direct voter contact, civic engagement and advocacy campaigns for volunteers, members and external partners. Tyler has been with NAACP for one year. Prior to working at the NAACP, he was the deputy National Field Director at For Our Future PAC, working on year-round community engagement and electoral programming. Before this advocacy work, Tyler worked with candidates all across the country on elections from Schoolboard to holding the position of Iowa Caucus Director for the Andrew Yang Presidential Campaign. He is a graduate of Kenyon College, and when he is not consuming all forms of political news, he considers himself an amateur golfer, and semi-professional NBA 2K player.

The need for Latino representation in democracy is underscored by their significant impact in the 2020 presidential election and the barriers to voting and political participation they often face. The UCLA Latino Policy and Politics Initiative reported that in 2020, Latinos cast 16.6 million votes, a 30.9% increase over the 2016 presidential election, playing a key role in swinging election results in several battleground states.
