Adriana Varea
LULAC Policy & Legislation Fellow
Adriana Varea is currently a Policy and Legislation Fellow for the League of United Latin American Citizens at their National Headquarters in Washington, DC. She is a rising senior at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine where she is studying Politics and Sociology with a concentration in "Identities and Interests." She recently returned home to DC after a semester abroad in Stockholm, Sweden where she studied impactful entrepreneurship, migration politics, and the psychology of prejudice. At Bates, she plays on the Women's Varsity Soccer Team, and she co-founded a one-on-one mentorship program that connects local children with Bates students. As an Ecuadorian-American, she is also proudly a member of Raices Unidas. She is passionate about topics such as power, inequality, and social justice, and enjoys using critical thinking skills to analyze complex social issues and political systems to effect positive change in the world.
