Nydia Yanira Reyes-Morales

Nydia Yanira Reyes-Morales is an environmental scientist, third-generation public servant and community advocate from Adjuntas, a small town in the beautiful mountains of Puerto Rico. For over 26 years, Yanira has continued her family’s tradition of public service through her work as an Environmental Protection Specialist at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, D.C.; and as a community advocate in her personal time. At EPA, she works with domestic and international engine and equipment manufacturers to ensure compliance with diesel engine emissions regulations. She also served as the Hispanic Employment Program Manager (HEPM) in EPA’s Office of Air and Radiation for 10 years, working to identify and eliminate barriers Hispanics face to enter and stay in government service, and advance in their careers.
