Leonard Gonzales
Military & Veterans Committee Vice Chair
Leonard Gonzales, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, holds the role of Vice Chair for the LULAC National Committee on Military and Veterans’ Affairs. In this capacity, he oversees LULAC’s efforts in Military Engagement and Veterans Support, pivotal to advancing the organization’s commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion across military and civilian domains, including Department of Defense contracting. Leonard, a retired USAF GG-15, previously led Equal Opportunity, Diversity, and Alternative Dispute Resolution Programs at the USAF Space and Missile Systems Center, showcasing his expertise in both military and civilian personnel disciplines.
Throughout his career, Leonard Gonzales has garnered acclaim from multiple Secretaries of the Air Force, notably for his role as an AF Mediator contributing to the AF’s top-rated ADR program in the federal government. His accolades include the AF General Counsel Award for Outstanding ADR Program (2006), AF Space Command EO Director of the Year (2008), USAF Solomon Starks, Jr. Award for Outstanding EO Director (2008), AF Exemplary Civilian Service Award (2007-2008), and the Greater Los Angeles Federal Executive Board Partnership Award for STEM-Diversity outreach (2013). Leonard was honored with the AF Outstanding Civilian Career Service Award upon his retirement.
