Alejandra Hernandez

Alejandra Hernandez is a Senior Federal Investigator with the U.S. Department of Defense Office of Inspector General, but her journey to this role is nothing short of remarkable. A first-generation Mexican American, Alejandra hails from the inner city of Chicago, Illinois. Her path into the military began at 17 when she enlisted in the delayed entry program, leading her to graduate from Marine Corps Basic Training and excel as a postal specialist in Okinawa, Japan, and later at Camp Lejeune, NC. Notably, Alejandra's service extended to Marine Barracks 8th & I, where she played a crucial role during the first Inauguration of former President Obama, standing guard on the platform and serving as a docent to General Conway. Her dedication continued as she trained young women at Parris Island, SC, eventually rising to the esteemed position of 4th Battalion Color Sergeant. Transitioning to civilian life, Alejandra pursued higher education, earning accolades such as Magna Cum Laude from Strayer University, all while working as a Mission Support Specialist for the Export Enforcement Division of the Department of Commerce. Today, she applies her diverse skill set and unwavering commitment to her role as a federal investigator, embodying resilience, determination, and service to her country.
