Umailla Fatima

Umailla Fatima, based in Washington, D.C., is a Policy Analyst for the UnidosUS Health Policy team. Her work with UnidosUS focuses on improving the health and wellbeing of the Latino community through improvements to gun violence prevention policy and food and nutrition policy. Before joining UnidosUS, Umailla honed her passion for improving health outcomes in underserved communities after working in an emergency department serving immigrant and low-income patients. She holds bachelor’s degrees in Public Policy and Neurobiology and Physiology from the University of Maryland.
