Rep. Emily Randall

U.S. Representative, Washington's 6th District

Emily Randal

Born and raised in Washington’s 6th Congressional District, Congresswoman Emily Randall is a proud product of a working-class family, deeply connected to the values and challenges of the community she serves. Inspired by her sister Olivia’s experience with complex disabilities and the transformative power of expanded Medicaid, Emily became a passionate advocate for affordable, high-quality healthcare. As the first in her family to attend a four-year college, Emily understands the critical role education plays in providing access to family-wage jobs that support local communities.

In January 2025, Emily made history as the first woman and first person of color to represent Washington’s 6th Congressional District, as well as the first openly LGBTQ+ person in Washington's Congressional delegation and the first queer Latina ever to serve in the United States Congress. Her legislative track record speaks for itself—she has consistently delivered results by focusing on the issues that matter most to her constituents. In both 2018 and 2022, Emily won the toughest state senate district in Washington, demonstrating her ability to overcome challenges and win competitive races. In Congress, Emily is committed to fighting for affordable healthcare, reproductive freedom, common-sense gun reform, a just transition to a green economy, and accessible education and job training programs.

Reimagining the Future of Latino Health: From Prevention to Treatment

Across the country, many Latino communities face health inequities in medication access, affordability, and adherence, worsened by policies that increase out-of-pocket costs and contribute to overall worse health outcomes. This discussion will focus on how Latinas and Latinos navigate these challenges, with particular attention to chronic conditions like obesity and diabetes, as well as women’s health issues such as reproductive care and maternal health. With Medicaid cuts impacting access to care, we'll explore innovative strategies, including culturally tailored healthcare, family-centered diabetes management, and targeted interventions.
