Dear LULAC Family and Friends,
We are so excited to extend a personal invitation for you to be part of an upcoming historical event and eagerly look forward to your presence for an extraordinary evening.
Join us now to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Order of the Sons of America (OSA) in San Antonio.
Share in the live recounting of the actions that led to the birth of the Mexican American Civil Rights Movement in the United States. Listen to the behind-the-scenes firsthand accounts surrounding OSA merging with two other Hispanic organizations to create LULAC in 1929.
Welcome, Dr. Cynthia Orozco, one of the nation’s foremost academics, historians, and authorities on the history of Mexican American social and civil rights activism. Dr. Orozco is the author of the groundbreaking book, No Mexicans, Women or Dogs Allowed: The Rise of the Mexican Civil Rights Movement.
Introducing Dr. Orozco will be Texas LULAC Historian David Contreras.
You have a virtual front-row seat reserved to come and experience the drama surrounding the courageous actions of LULAC’s first men and women. This memorable occasion is brought to you by LULAC, the Mexican American Civil Rights Institute, and AARP.
