LULAC Unveils New Interactive Digital Tools To Share Its History

Nation’s Largest and Oldest Latino Civil Rights Organization Provides a State-of-the-Art Timeline On Its 93rd Birthday

Washington, DC – The League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) issued the following statement about its planned premiere Thursday, February 17, 2022, of a new digital platform that details the organization’s 93-year history.

“We are extremely proud and excited about our upcoming virtual event this week, during which we will officially introduce and discuss the online LULAC Interactive History Timeline,” says David Contreras, Texas LULAC historian. “For me as someone who has spent years aggregating, indexing, and presenting LULAC’s achievements since our founding, this digital timeline represents an important milestone. Through it, students, and scholars, as well as anyone else interested in learning about our landmark civil rights work since 1929, will be able to easily navigate across more than nine decades of legal decisions, major LULAC events and get to know many of the critical figures across the arc of time. I invite and encourage all who can join us for this premiere presentation,” adds Contreras.
